INVERTEDOFFICIALTEASER1

What is Inverted?

Synopsis:

In a world paralleling the 70’s, a centuries-old cult known as the “Inverts” kidnap four individuals against their will to recruit for the holy war against the second coming of Christ. From a homosexual hippie, drug- addicted prostitute, man in drag, and a pedophile priest; they’re all deemed to be choice victims to invert through various initiations that push past the most brutal of boundaries.

Although this is an indie film, Clay and Orndoff have snagged some pretty recognizable names. Inverted is set to star Destinie Orndoff (Red Eye), Trevor Dow (Rise), Jennifer Nangle (Irrational Fear), Lynn Lowry (The Crazies), David McMahon (Rogue Island), Tommie Vegas (Party Night) and Maria Olsen (Lords of Salem).

Clay and Orndoff had this to say about the film:

“With this film, our main goal isn’t only to deliver an insanely intense, horrific piece of cinema; but to improve from our past work. To the character development, how we present our story, the special effects, everything. We promise to bring you a horror film, made by horror fans. We have learned so much since we shot our first feature and want to make Inverted go above and beyond.”

The chosen platform is Indiegogo. Like all other crowdfunding projects, there are loads of perks; everything from t-shirts, DVDs and Blu-rays to parts in the film. Inverted has a flexible goal of $17,666. With a month left on the campaign, the film is 3% funded with $443 of the total goal.  Backers can be assured that 100% of the funds will go directly to the film as the creators have provided a breakdown of where your donations are going.

Hilary Duff to Play Sharon Tate in ‘The Haunting of Sharon Tate’

Another former Disney darling has come to the world of horror; Hilary Duff will portray the beautiful Sharon Tate in the upcoming film The Haunting of Sharon Tate. The film is one of three films coming out to deal with someone involved in the Manson family murders (Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Manson in an upcoming Quentin Tarantino film, and Tuesday Doctor Who star Matt Smith signed on to play Manson in Mary Harron’s Charlie), but this film is a bit different from the others.

Instead of focusing on the murders, The Haunting of Sharon Tate is said to be based primarily on an interview Tate gave in 1968 where she discussed having nightmares about ghosts and even of her own death at the hands of a satanic cult. The film does not yet have a release date.

Duff took to Instagram to announce her part as the Hollywood beauty; her likeness to Tate is striking.

Not everyone is pleased with the production of the film however. Sharon Tate’s sister Debra has expressed her displeasure with the film to PEOPLE calling it “classless” and “exploitative”, but she claims to harbor no ill thoughts of Hilary Duff herself.

Sharon Tate was best known for her roles in films such as Eye of the Devil and Valley of the Dolls.

On the night of August 8, 1969, Sharon Tate was gathered with a group of her friends including Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski and Abigail Folger (music producer Quincy Jones had planned to join them but did not make it) in the home she shared with husband Roman Polanski at 10050 Cielo Drive in Los Angeles. The night would turn tragic when four members of the Manson family (Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Linda Kasabian and Patricia Krenwinkel) entered the home and murdered all occupants in the former home of record producer Terry Melcher (who Manson felt wronged him). Tate was 8 months pregnant and just 26-years-old when she was murdered.

Attention Indie Filmmakers: Terror Films Wants Your Short Films

The hardest part of being an indie filmmaker is getting your finished product to an audience, but Terror Films wants to help make that process a bit easier for you. They are looking for completed, never-before-seen indie short films to include in their upcoming television series coming this October, Terror Films Presents: Terrifying Tuesdays.

Terror-Films-Logo-2

The series will be comprised of six short films presented in a weekly episodic format. Each short film will be released as a stand-alone episode once a week leading up to Halloween. On Wednesday, October 31st, viewers will be able to binge watch all six of the previous episodes. Each episode will open with a pre-produced prologue created by the label specifically for the series.

Terror Films President Joe Dain had this to say about the new series:

“This is our take on ‘Tales From The Crypt,’ if you will. There are so many incredibly talented filmmakers out there. The level of originality and quality we have seen over the years with shorts has often surpassed what we see in full-length features. We not only want to give these filmmakers a real opportunity to have their short films showcased but wrapping them into a limited series format will allow us to elevate the marketing angle. We’re incredibly excited about the possibilities.”

Amazon Prime is currently the selected platform for Terror Films Presents: Terrifying Tuesdays, but the company has not ruled out pitching the finished product to other platforms such as Shudder, Starz, Netflix and Hulu.

Selected filmmakers will share in the revenue generated either through a licensing deal secured by the label or from the Amazon Prime Revenue Share program.

If you are interested in submitting a short film for consideration, it must meet the guidelines below.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Inclusive of credits, shorts should be no less than 25 minutes but no more than 40 minutes maximum.

  • Films must be 100% completed.

  • Absolutely no scenes of violence towards women, excessive nudity, extreme graphic violence or overt visual gore.

  • Shorts must not have had any online exposure at all! (YouTube, Vimeo, iTunes, Amazon, Festival or Filmmaker’s Website, Social Media etc.). Festival participation is okay but they must not have appeared online in any way.

  • No science fiction shorts! We are looking for traditional horror. (hauntings, possessions, witches, deranged killers, etc.).

  • You must own all rights to images, actors and music/score. “Festival Rights Only” will not be accepted.

  • Only seeking English Speaking shorts. No foreign language films with/or without subtitles will be considered for this particular project.

  • If you shot your film under the SAG New Media Agreement, filmmakers will be responsible for contacting SAG and paying any residuals from revenue received.

Copies of all executed SAG contracts must be available for review if requested.

  • A 5.1 sound mix preferred but not required.

  • All films subject to approval and acceptance based on all of the above along with a QC (Quality Control) report that shows that the film is technically ready to be delivered onto the Amazon platform.

Terror Films Executive and Head of Acquisitions Jim Klock will be overseeing the submission and selection process. If your film is selected, someone from Terror Films will contact you.

All character names in the film are based on iconic horror characters to add another element of dark comedy to the already funny plot; Jones plays Father Damien (The Omen), Berryman is Detective Pluto (The Hills Have Eyes), Nina Kate is (Dr. Laurie Strodes (loosely based on Halloween) and Barbeau is Mrs. Carrie (Carrie).

Pinehurst & an Imposter: What to Expect From the New ‘Friday the 13th’ Game Update

Since it’s release in May of 2017, Friday the 13th: The Game has become one of the most popular multiplayer games available, and since it’s original release, the addition of new maps and counselors including both Fox and Shelly from Friday the 13th Part III as well as the addition of Jason from Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter have kept the game interesting. It has been a while since a new addition has been made in the form of a new map or a new Jason, but that changes later today (January 27th).

Screen-Shot-2018-01-26-at-2.22.18-PM-555x312

The new free DLC that will be live will include the imposter Jason as well as a new map, the Pinehurst Youth Development Center from Friday the 13th: A New Beginning.

Roy-Burns-Friday-the-13th-The-Game

A few complaints have also arisen as to how kitten-like Jason has become. It has been increasingly easier for counselors to slip away from Jason and for a lack of better terms, troll him, by continuously beating him with various objects and escaping much easier. To remedy this situation and make it once more enjoyable to play as Jason, the following changes will also be included in the newest update:

  • Each Jason will see a slight speed increase: he won’t be competing in any marathons anytime soon, but he will move a bit faster.
  • Jason’s reach has been reevaluated and improved: this adjustment will make it harder for counselors to slip through Jason’s grab, but will still maintain fairness for players acting as counselors.
  • Each Jason will now start with two additional throwing knives: Chad is a dick and likes to dodge in and out of windows, with the addition of more throwing knives, Jason will be able to damage counselors inside of cabins near windows as well as counselors running through the woods.

Spoiler Alert!

The next big DLC update will include Uber Jason, the frozen head kill and playable map of the Grendel from Jason X.
